( 2018) found that Swedish textbooks are rich in tasks using equalities, for example, open number sentences (e.g. As part of this research project, Hemmi et al. Possible causes for the lack of improvements among Swedish students are studied in an ongoing research project in which Swedish school algebra is characterized, by analyzing steering documents and textbooks and by conducting focus group interviews with teachers (Bråting, Madej & Hemmi, 2018). However, we have not yet seen any improvements to Swedish students’ algebraic skills, at least if we consider the results of the TIMSS evaluations. Recently, a new version of the textbook was published (Häggström, Kilhamn, & Fredriksson, 2019). Hence, early algebra and algebraic thinking is part of “Algebra for all,” but it also includes traditional algebraic content like formal equation solving. In this textbook, algebra is described by using Usiskin’s (1988) four aspects of algebra and Linchevski’s ( 1995) definition of pre-algebra. The aim of the textbook was to make algebra available to all, that is, all mathematics teachers and all students (Bergsten et al., 1997). A specific algebra textbook adapted to teacher education (Bergsten, Häggström, & Lindberg, 1997) was published in the 1990s, and has been used at several universities. Furthermore, in-service programs for teachers have been implemented and since the 1990s there has been a strong emphasis on the “Algebra for all” movement, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to study algebra (Hemmi, Bråting, & Lepik, 2020). Inspired by the early algebra movement, Sweden has revised its national curriculum and today algebra is introduced already in Grade 1 with, for example, the importance of the equal sign forming part of the core content in Grades 1–3 (Swedish National Agency of Education, 2018). In recent decades, several efforts have been made in Sweden to improve students’ algebraic knowledge. Even in 1995, when Swedish students performed the best ever on the TIMSS, their results in algebra remained poor (Hemmi et al. In international evaluations, such as the TIMSS, 1 Swedish students’ results in algebra have been below average since the 1960s (Murray & Liljefors, 1983 Swedish National Agency of Education, 2008, 2012, 2016a). In Sweden, which is the context of this study, algebra has always been problematic for students. In recent years, research has shown that it is possible to teach algebra already in earlier grades by, for example, using mathematical relations and patterns to develop algebraic thinking (Kieran, Pang, Schifter, & Fong Ng, 2016). This emphasizes the importance of research on mathematics education in general, and specifically on the teaching and learning of algebra. Brandell, Hemmi & Thunberg, 2008 Hemmi, Bråting, Liljekvist, Prytz, Madej, Pejlare & Palm Kaplan, 2018). Profound knowledge in algebra is important for higher studies in mathematics (e.g.

You may experience longer or shorter bleeding during your periods or have no bleeding at all. In studies, one out of ten women stopped using the implant because of an unfavorable change in their bleeding pattern. The most common side effect of NEXPLANON is a change in your normal menstrual bleeding pattern. Use a backup birth control method and call your healthcare provider right away if the implant comes out. You may become pregnant if the implant comes out by itself. Additionally, the implant may come out by itself. Other problems related to insertion and removal include pain, irritation, swelling, bruising, numbness and tingling, scarring, infection, injury to the nerves or blood vessels, and breaking of the implant. If the implant is not removed, then the effects of NEXPLANON will continue for a longer period of time. Special procedures, including surgery in the hospital, may be needed to remove the implant. Removal of the implant may be very difficult or impossible if the implant is not where it should be. If this happens, you may become pregnant. The implant may not be placed in your arm at all due to failed insertion. You may need special tests to check that the implant is in place or to help find the implant when it is time to take it out. If you cannot feel the NEXPLANON implant, contact your healthcare provider immediately and use a non-hormonal birth control method (such as condoms) until your healthcare provider confirms that the implant is in place. Immediately after the NEXPLANON implant has been placed, you and your healthcare provider should check that the implant is in your arm by feeling for it. These medicines will be used when the implant is placed into or removed from your arm. Talk to your healthcare provider about using NEXPLANON if you have diabetes, high cholesterol or triglycerides, headaches, gallbladder or kidney problems, history of depressed mood, high blood pressure, allergy to numbing medicines (anesthetics) or medicines used to clean your skin (antiseptics). You should not use NEXPLANON if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant have or have had blood clots have liver disease or a liver tumor have unexplained vaginal bleeding have breast cancer or any other cancer that is sensitive to progestin (a female hormone), now or in the past or are allergic to anything in NEXPLANON. 7/2/2023 0 Comments San antonio eye pro la canteraHow can I book a spa appointment at the Lantana Spa? Pérez, Villarreal: Death commuted to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole Ĭapital murder, kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault. But I almost can’t help it this beautiful comedy still has the brew that is true.Double-murder, child murder, gang rape, child rape, torture murder, kidnapping Over the years, evaluating film projects for 20th Century Fox, I have probably compared too many of them to The Court Jester and found them wanting. When my son Darius was old enough to watch the film (then on DVD), I went through a second flurry of viewings, and marveled again at the achievements. As the movie wraps up its various plot lines and the rightful king is restored to the throne, you realize that The Court Jester has practically decapitated the Age of Chivalry with mace and chain, but has done so with affection. Rebecca, absorbing language at supersonic speed, could repeat Kaye’s readings of those lines without necessarily understanding them. The newly knighted Hawkins is forced to duel for the princess’ hand, which yields one of the greatest comedy sequences in movie history - Hawkins’s attempt to master the life- or-death tongue-twister: “The pellet with the poison’s in the vessel with the pestle the chalice of the palace has the brew that is true!” As the movie resolves its comic intrigues, there’s fine work from Cecil Parker as Roderick, Basil Rathbone as the sneering Lord Ravenhurst, crackly-voiced Glynis Johns and Angela Lansbury as the haughty princess who falls in love with Hawkins. If I was responding to the pseudo-Freudian lyric about what it means to be an entertainer, Rebecca was responding to Kaye’s irrepressible clowning he was, once again, playing the palace. The movie’s musical centerpiece is “The Maladjusted Jester,” which Hawkins performs for King Roderick. During those Court Jester screenings, I was also learning how to be a father. Meanwhile, I would try to figure out how Panama and Frank had advanced the plot. Kaye might as well have been singing directly to my daughter. At the behest of the Black Fox, Hawkins exposes the royal birthmark, the purple pimpernel, on the infant king’s rump (Rebecca roared most young children are attuned to butt jokes) and later sings the king a lullaby. She was tickled by the early scene in which Hawkins dances with a troupe of little people. Instead, we were both mesmerized by the opening sequence in which Kaye, in jester costume, appears to be throwing the credits across the screen. The story is as complicated as any by Sir Walter Scott, but I’m not sure Rebecca cared about that. Hawkins does so by impersonating a jester known as the Great Giacomo, who discreetly moonlights as an assassin. But the Black Fox, Roderick’s most feared nemesis, knows Hawkins is better suited to gentler arts, so he assigns him to smuggle the rightful king, an infant, into the palace. Kaye plays Hubert Hawkins, a carnival entertainer in 12th-century England who longs to be in the thick of it, “steel to steel,” against the usurper King Roderick. Written and directed by the veteran comedy team of Norman Panama and Melvin Frank, The Court Jester was shot in VistaVision, Paramount’s widescreen attempt to lure television viewers back into movie theatres. After a rental VHS copy of The Court Jester first appeared in our house, Rebecca was engrossed - so much so that we subsequently bought a copy. She was no more than three, but already aware of Danny Kaye because her maternal grandmother had a mint 10-inch vinyl copy of Danny at the Palace (1957). I didn’t discover his masterwork, The Court Jester (1955), until my daughter, Rebecca, born 30 years after the film was released, was old enough to watch with me. For the next three decades, I forgot about Kaye. Of one of his movie appearances, Pauline Kael wrote, “If he uses that Irish impersonation again, even the infants may crawl out for a cigarette.” At camp, my bunkmates were now singing Allan Sherman’s and Tom Lehrer’s timelier parodies. He then went to Hollywood, where he specialized in playing lovable dreamers - schlemiels with rich fantasy lives.ĭuring my adolescence, I began to wince at Kaye’s patented awestruck expressions and foreign accents. Born Daniel David Kaminsky in Brooklyn in 1913, he’d gone from musical revues in New York and London, where he dazzled audiences with rapid-patter songs written for him by his wife Sylvia Fine, to Broadway musicals. In fact, Kaye had been a star since my parents’ childhood. At summer camp, if I heard a bunkmate wail, “Mommy, gimme a drinka water,” I knew that we owned the same Danny Kaye record. My classmates and I knew the songs from Hans Christian Andersen (1952), even if we boys didn’t always admit it. When I was growing up in the 1960s, the entertainer Danny Kaye seemed to be everywhere - today traveling the world on behalf of UNICEF, tonight hosting his own CBS variety show. 7/2/2023 0 Comments Install premiere proIf you opted to install all the Creative Cloud apps, they would begin to install one at a time.ĭownload Adobe Premiere Pro for Free Adobe Premiere Pro OverviewĪdobe Premiere Pro is the industry-standard video editing program.

Tritech tips are unique in that they have super hard tungsten at 93 Rockwell hardness & all other brands are about 83-85 Rockwell hardness. Persevering with a worn spray tip will simply end up costing you money and will produce inferior results. You’ll start using more paint for the same area coverage and the spray pattern will be more uneven. However, airless spray tips are subject to enormous pressures and do wear out just like any other painting tools.Ī tip will spray, on average, around 300-600 litres before you need to replace it.Ī new tip should produce a soft, thinner coated edge around the spray fan.Īs the tip wears, this soft edge will become more defined and the fan size will decrease. The Tritech tips, for example, are made with super hard tungsten carbide measuring 93 on the Rockwell scale of hardness.Īs a comparison, a diamond measures 100 on this same scale. We supply the toughest tips in the industry. Having said that, the range of tip sizes available allows you almost infinite control of your spraying finish and quality. When it comes to choosing tips, you should start by checking the coating manufacturer’s instructions they have researched optimum tip sizes for the viscosity of their particular products. On the other hand, keeping the orifice size the same and increasing the fan width allows you to spread the same amount of material over a wider area. Both tips will spray a pattern 10 inches wide but the 523 tip will produce a thicker coating provided you use the same sprayer pressure and hand speed. These three numbers together tell you a lot about whether the tip is suitable for your needs.īut what happens when you compare two tips with the same fan width but with different orifice sizes?Ī 515 tip compared with a 523 tip. Higher pressures will force more material through the orifice. The amount of pressure used will also influence this. The larger the orifice, the more paint can come through it. The size of this opening controls how much coating material can flow out through the tip. Thus, a 515 tip denotes an orifice measuring 15 thousandths of an inch in diameter. The last two digits indicate the size of this orifice in thousandths of an inch. The tip orifice is where final paint atomisation occurs. This is a general guide because the fan width may vary slightly depending on the sprayer pressure and material choice by up to 2 inches (5cms). Yes, even in Australia, we still use inches for this measurement.įor example, a 515 tip will give you a spray fan pattern 10 inches wide (2 x 5) when the sprayer is approximately 12 inches (30 cms) from the surface.Ī 315 tip will produce a 6-inch wide spray fan, a 413 tip will produce an 8 inch and so on.Īlready know what tips you need? See our range here Take the first digit double it and this will give you the width of the spray fan in inches. Spray tip size is designated by three numbers. 7/2/2023 0 Comments Retroarch sega cd m3u⇒ Joypad 2 Button 769, Joypad 2 Button + Master Tap 2049, Light Phaser 260, Paddle Control 261.ĬONTROLLER 2 TYPE ntroller2_msĮxtend the game screen area like on a Master System. While it's annoying that archives take longer it's not a large problem for my use case. According to Zoolz tech support "All lifetime users share the same backup bandwidth channel which may sometimes results in backup malfunctions and interruptions." - This change explains the slowdowns and interrupts I've seen in archiving my files. What's Changed - Zoolz has downgraded the service for Lifetime Plan customers. For my lite usage backup speeds were fine. Most "issues" could be traced to Internet or PC problems. Situation - 2016-09 purchased 500GB Lifetime Plan - 2018-12 upgraded with the purchase of 1.5TB Lifetime Plan - Fairly lite user of the cold storage ~ once/day - Use about 360GB of the 1.5TB of cold storage - Rarely if ever use the Instant Vault storage Experience - Until this year I rarely had an issue with Zoolz itself. If I were a Lifetime customer with a heavier usage scenario I doubt I'd give them more than half a star. Now the most I can give them is one and a half stars. Overall before this year (2020) I would've given Zoolz a four star rating as a Lifetime customer since it worked fine in my lite usage scenario. Went From 4 Stars to 1 Star for Lifetime Customers Zoolz started out as a great service, but now we are just left in the cold. Another problem I faced a few times, is the limit to upload folders containing more than 1000 files using the web interface, which I easily do if I shoot more than 500 pictures in a day. Even as an amateur photographer, whom wants to backup my photos, Zoolz is just too limited. As a lifetime plan user, I can't recommend this service to anyone. Luckily enough though, most of my photos are under 8MB (16MP) since I use JPEG-files as previews for my RAW-files, which means that I still get thumbnails for most photos. I signed up for Zoolz and paid for a Lifetime plan to easily access all my photos using my Android-phone. Today I tried to access one of my files from my "Instant Vault" but found out that it's a total scam! I need to wait for an email to download a file that is less than 1MB in size? And getting this email seems to be hours or even days away. Spend your money on an iCloud or Dropbox upgrade. But the idea that they can't stop an abusive user from hogging all the bandwidth, or can't provide a usable service level to its earliest supporters, is crazy. Turn off Turbo Mode for Lifetime Users, even. I have no problem with Zoolz limiting upload speeds or download timeframes for Lifetime users. A month later, I only have 3050 files backed up (over 100,000 pending). I finally got the same support response: that all Lifetime users share the bandwidth and that I would have to wait for some to become available. Blaming myself, I even deleted all my computers and backups from the web console, reinstalled the software, etc. I got the dreaded "Please check your internet connection" error and contacted support after being unable to back up. However, I now find the product to be completely unusable. I didn't mind the delay in downloads from cold storage, because I purchased it as a backup solution that would only be used for disaster recovery. I too, bought the Lifetime Zoolz plan a few years ago. Before this, we will be sure to remind all users to retrieve their data before deletion. What will happen with my data? On October 15th account data will be deleted from our servers. Any Zoolz Home order made within the last 30 days will be fully refunded while any customers whose purchase date exceeds the previous 30-day limit and is under 12 months, will be partially refunded. How does this affect my account? All Zoolz Home users will have 14 days to retrieve their data from the cloud. Even with the many changes we’ve made to how we structured our cloud backup services, we’re unable to competitively service the consumer market. We entered it 15 years ago with the hope that we could make it accessible to anyone, both business and home users. What happened? The cloud backup market is a competitive one. Now they just cancelling accounts - see below: Dear Valued Customer, It is with deep regret that we inform you, effective immediately, our consumer service, Zoolz Home, will be discontinued in order to allow us to fully focus on the business and organization cloud backup market. Another fantastic news! Recently they demanded all lifetime users to pay them a "maintenance fee". 7/1/2023 0 Comments Io moon massIo played a significant role in the development of astronomy in the 17th and 18th centuries discovered in January 1610 by Galileo Galilei, along with the other Galilean satellites, this discovery furthered the adoption of the Copernican model of the Solar System, the development of Kepler's laws of motion, and the first measurement of the speed of light. Io's volcanic ejecta also produce a large plasma torus around Jupiter. The materials produced by this volcanism make up Io's thin, patchy atmosphere and Jupiter's extensive magnetosphere. Numerous extensive lava flows, several more than 500 km (300 mi) in length, also mark the surface. Its volcanic plumes and lava flows produce large surface changes and paint the surface in various subtle shades of yellow, red, white, black, and green, largely due to allotropes and compounds of sulfur. Io's volcanism is responsible for many of its unique features. Most of Io's surface is composed of extensive plains with a frosty coating of sulfur and sulfur dioxide. Unlike most moons in the outer Solar System, which are mostly composed of water ice, Io is primarily composed of silicate rock surrounding a molten iron or iron sulfide core. Some of these peaks are taller than Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth's surface. Io's surface is also dotted with more than 100 mountains that have been uplifted by extensive compression at the base of Io's silicate crust. Several volcanoes produce plumes of sulfur and sulfur dioxide that climb as high as 500 km (300 mi) above the surface. This extreme geologic activity is the result of tidal heating from friction generated within Io's interior as it is pulled between Jupiter and the other Galilean moons- Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. With over 400 active volcanoes, Io is the most geologically active object in the Solar System. It was discovered in 1610 by Galileo Galilei and was named after the mythological character Io, a priestess of Hera who became one of Zeus's lovers. Slightly larger than Earth’s moon, Io is the fourth-largest moon in the Solar System, has the highest density of any moon, the strongest surface gravity of any moon, and the lowest amount of water (by atomic ratio) of any known astronomical object in the Solar System. oʊ/), or Jupiter I, is the innermost and third-largest of the four Galilean moons of the planet Jupiter.
